Developmental and Intellectual Disability Services in Hermiston, OR
Supporting People with ID/DD across Eastern Oregon
Eastern Oregon is a place where communities are separated by long stretches of highway, but connected by strong local relationships and a shared commitment to helping neighbors succeed. Through our Hermiston office, Premier Community Supports provides developmental disability services and disability support services throughout Umatilla, Morrow, Gilliam, and Union counties, helping individuals build independence, strengthen skills, and remain connected to the communities they call home.
Our service area covers a significant portion of Eastern Oregon. From Hermiston, Pendleton, and Milton-Freewater to Boardman, Heppner, Arlington, and La Grande, the individuals we support live in communities that are remarkably different from one another. Some reside in growing regional centers with access to a wide range of opportunities, while others live in smaller rural communities where resources may be more limited. We recognize those differences and develop supports that reflect the realities of each person’s local environment.
For individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, meaningful support isn’t about fitting into a program. It’s about identifying goals, building on strengths, and creating opportunities that make sense for real life. Whether someone wants to become more independent at home, participate more actively in their community, explore employment opportunities, or develop new skills, our team works alongside them to build supports that move them toward those goals.
Many of the individuals and families we serve are referred by county developmental disabilities programs, brokerages, case managers, and support coordinators throughout Eastern Oregon. We value those partnerships and work collaboratively to ensure supports remain person-centered, responsive, and focused on outcomes that matter to the individual. Families exploring developmental disability services for the first time are also encouraged to reach out directly. Our team is happy to answer questions and help explain available options.
The communities we serve are diverse, but one thing remains consistent: people want to stay connected to the places where they live. Through our In-Home Support Services and Day Support Services, individuals can develop daily living skills, strengthen relationships, participate in community activities, and pursue personal goals while remaining active members of their local communities.
Employment looks different across Eastern Oregon, and so do the opportunities available. Agriculture, food processing, transportation, healthcare, education, manufacturing, and local businesses all play important roles throughout the region. Through our Employment Services, we help individuals identify strengths, explore career interests, connect with employers, and achieve success in competitive employment. We work closely with both job seekers and businesses to create opportunities that support long-term growth and independence.
Some individuals, families, and support teams may also benefit from specialized behavioral supports. Our Positive Behavior Support Specialist Services provide practical strategies designed to build skills, increase independence, and create positive outcomes across home, work, and community settings.
For those interested in a career helping others, our Hermiston office regularly hires Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) throughout Umatilla, Morrow, Gilliam, and Union counties. DSPs play a critical role in helping individuals achieve their goals, participate in community life, develop greater independence, and experience the opportunities available within their communities. Whether you’re bringing experience to the field or exploring a new career path, we provide training, mentorship, and ongoing support.
